Undiscovered
Wanting a page to binge scroll? Do you have the desire to learn about unique fashion but don't know where to start? Undiscovered is the answer to your prayers. Kelly Acheampong, a university graduate from Norwich University of the Arts is a successful young man who has curated a peephole into the world of underground brands and exciting news stories linked to the fashion industry. By creating the social media page and brand 'Undiscovered', he has enabled small brands to gain the exposure they deserve; one of my favourites being Gui Rosa's 'spiked headgear' collection. The abstract content that is frequently posted by him as well as the enthralling events he hosts grips people's interests and allows for consumers to let their imagination run wild. Wacky clothes, stomper shoes - you name it, Kelly posts about it.
Where can I find him?
His focus on modern street wear rather than reporting about high end fashion gives a voice to the underbelly of the fashion industry and showcases how these brands are just as important and impressive as other well known brands. Everybody's got to start somewhere! Undiscovered is only going to get better - Kelly talked about the introduction of a website named the 'Undiscovered Club' where creatives can sign up, submit their work and come together as a community.
How did Kelly inspire me?

When listening to a talk Kelly gave in late September of this year, I noticed that his words resonated with me highly; my best friend and I have kick started our own brand 'ROOD!' which is an eclectic mix of 90s and 2000s pieces that are ethically sourced and pre-loved. The struggles that Kelly allowed himself to be vulnerable about in his talk heavily correlated to issues Rosie and I have had when attempting to expand our brand - finances, connections etc. What also compelled me to write about Kelly was his explanation of why he embarked upon his journey in the first place; he wanted to construct a platform that gave people like me and Roo a chance to grow an audience and get the funds/media interest to keep their brands alive and blossoming.
